Mormon Helping Hands in Tafara Mabvuku

The Mormon Helping Hands program brings together members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their neighbors to provide community service. These volunteers in their trademark yellow shirts help people whose lives have been affected by natural disasters and other emergencies. Mormon Helping Hands volunteers also partner with government and nonprofit organizations to support and improve the communities where they live.

The Helping Hands program reflects the desire of Mormons to follow the example of Jesus Christ by serving others. The effort receives resources from Church humanitarian services, and the projects are coordinated by local Church leaders.

It was a great day for the local nursery school in Tafara/Mabvuku suburbs in Harare, when members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also known as Mormons, did a Helping Hands project in the area to clean and renovate the buildings, and paint the furnishings and swings.

Every year members of The Church in different locations undertake service projects to benefit local communities regardless of their faith or beliefs, and this is what happened this year in Tafara/Mabvuku.  The men  replaced  and painted broken doors and windows.  They also painted chairs and tables of this school for the little ones in their community.  The women cleaned the buildings and reorganized the classes with the newly painted chairs and tables.
